This Easter, between the 21st and the 24th March, a team of archaeologists from the Newcastle University School of Historical Studies,have carried out a dig on the site of 12 Bank Top, Cullercoats.

This is where the famous American artist Winslow Homer had his studio. It was here that Homer painted many of his great works. He lived in Cullercoats from April 1881 - November 1882.

Cullercoats Harbour Users Group
aka: 'Cullercoats Harbour Committee'
Next meeting to be held on Monday 2nd June 2008 in Cullercoats Primary School main hall at 6.30pm. The meeting is open to local fishermen, residents, and all harbour users. The meeting is chaired by the Council, with Cullercoats ward councillors. All issues concerning the harbour are welcome to be discussed at the meeting.
(2008 dates: 3rd March, 2nd June and 1st September.)
